Overview
The PB CDI Manager works to strategically plan, organize, and evaluate the PB Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Program. This includes management of pre-visit provider support, post-visit provider review, collaboration with providers and coding team, and education of providers. The manager oversees the Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (CDIS) in planning, implementing improvements, provider outreach, and re-evaluating processes to keep staff engaged and to assist in meeting department goals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current LPN or RN licensure preferred or CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement preferred.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience.
- Prior CDI experience required.
- Clinical knowledge and understanding of pathology/physiology.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to review the medical record to identify information not yet documented but supported by clinical indicators or clinical clues.
- Utilizing critical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making processes, balancing reimbursement considerations with regulatory compliance.
- Ability to function in a highly impactful, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility in prioritization a must.
- Understanding of E/M level guidelines and CMS-HCC Risk Adjustment Model.
- Clear understanding of coding guidelines for compliance purposes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong leadership skills.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN), CCS-P, CPC, CRC, CDEO, or other coding credential required.
